Grand National Tips

For the last four years (we started our site in 2008) we have been proud to provide the best, and most in-depth Grand National Tips free for both experienced, and first time punters. We will continue this service for many years to come, as we just love the buzz of the 'National, the build up to the big race, together with the potential for a flutter and a win into the bargain!

However, the main point we would like to make is that we consitently (for the last 3 years) have predicted the winning horse! With our 3 Grand National Tips (we only give three tips, there's no point in recommending any more) you can be sure you are making a good choice for your 'National flutter.

The Grand National is one of the most eagerly awaited sporting events of the year. Arguably Britain's most prestigious horse race, the first Grand National was held back in 1836.

The event was founded by William Philip Molyneux, the 2nd Earl of Sefton, on land his family owned at Aintree. Hot debate among historians regarding the first official race is always of interest, as the belief is held that the majority of leading published historians such as John Pinfold, for example, now prefer the idea that the first running was in 1836 and was won by The Duke.

Since then, every year, forty horses face each other on the renowned Aintree Racecourse. A tough 4 1/2 mile course, encompassing over thirty fences, it is regarded as the most eventful horse race worldwide (in fact it is called a Steeplechase). This Grand National Tips website has been designed to give you as much information as possible to help you pick the winner - before you bet!

Grand National Tips - AINTREE INFORMATION

Aintree track

Our Grand National Tips website gets you all the info you need about the National. There are usually forty horses taking part in the race but fewer than ten may in fact complete the course. Way back in 1928, forty-two horses started, and only two finished!

Aintree Racecourse is regarded by most jockeys as one of the most difficult courses to successfully complete as there are sixteen steeplechase fences which include The Chair, Canal Turn and the dreaded Becher's Brook. These fences are so infamous that their names strike fear into the most professional of jockeys! All of the fences except the water jump are covered with spruce and greenery, making the water jump stand out more than any other course in British horse racing. In other words, Aintree is perfect for hosting such a great event, and we think you'll agree Grand National 2011 is an occassion to mark in your diary!
